More fun than an exploding Whoopie Pie! When plus size and out of work news producer Kate Gallagher heads for Durham, North Carolina, the Diet Capital of the World, to take up residence at a diet clinic, she finds more than low cal meals and fellow dieters. Instead, the plucky heroine is introduced to a dead diet doctor with a love for S&M, dueling diet clinics, and more suspects that she can shake a carrot stick at, not to mention a charming detective who finds Kate delightfully delicious.

- Sue Ann Jaffarian, author of Too Big To Miss
and The Curse of the Holy Pail

Kathryn Lilley's Dying to Be Thin dishes out generous servings of humor and whodunit as TV news producer turned amateur sleuth Kate Gallagher tries to solve a weight loss guru's murder. Fun and fast-paced, this quirky cozy truly puts the "die" into "diet."

-- Susan McBride, author of the Debutante Dropout Mysteries

A delightful debut. Plus-sized TV producer Kate Gallagher is as irresistible as a pint of mocha chip ice-cream -- without the guilt.

-- Susan Kandel, Shamus in the Green Room

Dying to be Thin made me laugh so hard, I choked on my M&M's. They say comedy comes from pain, and anyone who has tried to lose that pesky last fifty pounds knows how painful that can be. When spunky, chunky Kate takes on a murder investigation, while trying to take off weight, the result is a sheer delight. Kate Gallagher is the funniest, most adorable heroine in recent memory. Bridget Jones, eat your heart out!

Mystery author Elaine Viets had a stroke in the spring and was unable to conduct her book launch, "Murder with Reservations." Across the nation, mystery writers banded together to do a "tour by proxy" for Elaine's book launch. Find out more, or order her book here.

On Friday, May 4th, Sue Ann Jaffarian and I represented Elaine at a book "signing" at Reagan International Airport in Washington, DC. Basically, we told people about her book, her story, and sold her books for two hours.

Find an independent mystery bookseller, find a bookstore near you, or order online fromAmazon or Barnes & Noble.
